Paul Ingraham, French horn (1963 - 1985)

Paul Ingraham has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a professional French Horn player and teacher. He has a wide range of musical activities and experiences, including solo recordings, TV jingles, film score orchestral and chamber music performances and solo appearances.
He joined the New York Brass Quintet in 1963 and the New York City Ballet Orchestra as solo horn in 1965. Around the same time he joined the Yale School of Music faculty as professor of Horn, where he taught for 35 years. He has also taught at the Hartt College of Music and the Manhattan School of Music, and previously performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the Minneapolis Symphony (now the Minnesota Orchestra), and the Casals Festival Orchestra under the legendary Pablo Casals.
As a long-member of the Contemporary Chamber Ensemble, he performed many premieres of new compositions including the North American premiere of Voyage for Solo horn and orchestra by Ian Hamilton. Currently celebrating his fiftieth year as a performer, he continues his work as solo horn with the Ballet Orchestra as well as with the American Composer’s Orchestra and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra.
