The NYBQ was the unique pioneer ensemble in the development of significant brass ensemble repertoire and brass chamber music performance in the latter half of the 20th century.The repertoire of the New York Brass Quintet covered over 400 years of music history, from the Renaissance through the Baroque, and works of the late Romantic period to the 20th century, in which the ensemble attained a high level of technical and musical accomplishment.
Even today, brass performers and music audiences around the world still appreciate and enjoy brass chamber music as exemplified by the outstanding ground-breaking work of the New York Brass quintet in concerts, recordings and in various other media.
